Tallara Basin
Iron and manganese in the north west, with rail access to the Port Kelso export terminal.
Tallara Basin is our largest operation by volume, supplying iron and manganese to export customers through a 214 kilometre private rail link to the Port Kelso terminal.
Fleet transition
Seventy-two per cent of the haul fleet now runs on electric drive, charged from the site’s 60 MW solar and storage facility. The remaining conventional units are scheduled for replacement by 2032, which will remove an estimated 118,000 tonnes of CO₂-e a year from our Scope 1 inventory.
Land access
Tallara Basin operates under an agreement with the traditional owners of the area, which provides for employment targets, cultural heritage survey ahead of any ground disturbance, and an annual review attended by both parties.
