Ferrier Creek is an underground operation in central Victoria, supplying specialty minerals to industrial customers in Australia and Japan. The site sits upstream of a working agricultural district, and water management is the defining engineering challenge of the operation.

Water

A dedicated treatment plant was commissioned in April 2025, ahead of the schedule agreed with the regulator. Treated water is returned to catchment and monitored continuously at five independent points, with results published each quarter in our reporting centre.

Following the seasonal turbidity notice issued in March 2026, sampling frequency at points three and four was increased voluntarily. Marridale continues to work constructively with the catchment authority.

Community

The Ferrier Creek Community Fund has distributed $2.4 million since 2012, supporting the district hospital auxiliary, two sporting clubs and the regional fire brigade fleet replacement programme.
